Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal responsibility is at the heart of the republican platform.  Yet they have overseen one of the largest increases in discretionary spending since the New Deal and turned a budget surplus into a deficit.  Apparently, fiscal responsibility is for campaign purposes only.

The federal government has approximately $2.4 trillion in tax revenue to spend yet they continually operate in the red.  They spend hundreds of millions of dollar on bridges in Alaska that go nowhere, while we have bridges across the nation that need urgent repair.  They talk about controlling increases in spending, while never cutting the excessive pork barrel projects stuffed into legislative bills.

Being fiscally responsible is not about politics, it’s about answering to the people that contribute their hard earned money for the public good.
