BELIEVE AGAIN

Energy Independence

We send $1 billion a day overseas to fuel our energy needs.  With that level of capital leaving our domestic economy does it really make sense that seriously addressing our foreign addiction to oil is bad for the economy?  This is not a painless proposition.  It requires real commitment from our leaders and an investment from our communities.  However, the stakes are high.  There is over $360 billion waiting to be pumped back into our domestic economy, countless number of jobs to be created and new businesses ready to flourish.

Outside of the significant economic impact of building our domestic energy sector, it also goes to the heart of our national security.  With every dollar we send overseas for our energy needs a portion of that money goes to fund the questionable activities of hostile nations.  However, we can cut off this money, because for every gallon of ethanol or alternative fuel we produce we are directly displacing our need for foreign oil.
