Delivering on the Promise
Ideology is not enough to run an effective government. We need leadership that values the debate of competing ideas and, more importantly, the competency of people to implement agreed upon objectives. We have all witnessed the “yes men” culture in our current political parties and the resulting incompetence displayed in executing the Iraq war, providing relief during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, and managing the office of the Attorney General.
Americans have never tolerated inept execution, unaccountability or deceptiveness. This time is no different. We need to ensure our politicians understand that delivering on the promise counts.
